High-speed single-pass digital inkjet for books and magazines. Two models (440C and 6600), up to 100 m/min duplex output, 1200 x 600 dpi, water-based pigment inks, infrared drying, and end-to-end digital workflow management built for educational publishers, commercial book printers, transactional operations, and newspaper production.
A digital inkjet printing machine doesn't need plates, so every page can be different from the one before it. That makes it possible to print variable content within a single production run:
Personalised content: names on certificates, workbooks or children's books
Numbering: sequential page, copy or ticket numbers
Barcodes and QR codes: unique codes for tracking, authentication or linking to digital content
Version changes: different language, regional or school editions of the same book, printed back to back without stopping the press
For educational publishers, this means one run can produce customised textbooks for different schools or boards. For commercial printers, it opens up personalised and transactional work that offset can't do.
Offset printing needs plates for every job, so short runs cost more per copy. VividPress-E goes straight from file to print, so 100 copies cost the same per copy as 1,000.
Receive the file: the publisher sends a print-ready PDF
Prepare the job: the workflow software handles imposition, arranging pages on the paper web in the right order for folding and binding
Print: VividPress-E prints both sides in one pass at up to 100 m/min
Finish: printed output goes to cutting, folding and binding
Deliver: books ship in days, not weeks
This workflow supports reprints of backlist titles, short first editions, textbook updates and print-to-order, so publishers print what they sell instead of storing what they might.
VividPress-E prints on paper rolls. How output moves into finishing depends on your setup:
Roll-to-roll: printed paper is rewound onto a roll and taken to separate finishing equipment. The press and finishing run independently, so neither waits for the other.
Roll-to-sheet (optional): an inline sheeter cuts the printed web into flat sheets, ready for folding, gathering and binding on sheet-fed equipment.
Roll-to-fold: the printed web can feed into a folding line that produces folded signatures, ready for gathering and binding into books or magazines.
From there, signatures or sheets are gathered in page order, bound (perfect binding for paperbacks, saddle stitching for magazines, case binding for hardbacks) and trimmed to size. Our team can help plan the finishing line around your existing equipment.
VividPress-E runs paper from 45 to 160 gsm, with media widths of 440 mm (440C) or 660 mm (6600).

How paper choice affects quality: uncoated papers absorb water-based pigment ink well and suit text-heavy books. Standard coated offset papers are designed for offset inks and may not absorb water-based inkjet ink properly. For magazines and colour-rich pages, use inkjet-optimised coated papers. We recommend testing your paper stock on the press before committing to a large order.
It's a press that prints book pages directly from digital files using inkjet printheads, with no plates. VividPress-E prints both sides of a paper roll in a single pass, making short runs and reprints cost-effective.
